Traffic Authority Clarifies V-16 Light Rules for Foreign Vehicles in Spain

Spain’s DGT (Traffic Department) has published an official instruction to clarify the use of the V-16 emergency warning light for vehicles registered in other countries — whether they’re on holiday or just passing through 🛣️

📄 This 3-page document explains that:

✅ Foreign-registered vehicles driving in Spain under “international circulation” are NOT ❌ required to carry the V-16.

They are legally compliant if they carry or use the traditional warning triangles 🔺 or any similar device that is legally accepted in their country of origin 🇬🇧🇩🇪🇧🇪
