Using a golf buggy on public roads

During the last days we have seen buggies being driven around golf courses, as well as a lot of them parked at the side of the streets.
Remember, a GOLF BUGGY is not considered
a PERSONAL MOBILITY VEHICLE which means that if you wish to drive it on a PUBLIC ROADS OR private roads open to all road users you must register it which means:
Holding a Driving Licence
according to the engine capacity (AM/B or A1,A2,A)
Registration Number
Insurance
Itv (MOT)
Tax
Depending on engine power:
– Up to 50cc → Yellow plate (moped)
– Over 50cc → White plate (standard vehicle)
Don’t want the hassle?
Then the buggy must stay inside the golf course and only be used in areas closed to traffic within the club.
