On December 1st, 1998, the Spanish Government granted the concession of the toll motorways of La Zenia and Los Montesinos (Alicante) to the company AUSUR, for a total duration of 50 years.

While the Alicante ring road toll was made free by the government last year, no similar measures have been announced for this toll section.

A proposal worth considering:

Why not introduce a 50% toll discount all year rounf for registered residents of Torrevieja, Orihuela, and surrounding towns?

Such a move could offer real relief to thousands of local drivers who use this route daily.
