Thinking of buying an electric scooter to commute to work, or maybe for your child to go to school? Here’s what you need to know

📅 From January 22, 2024, all new Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMVs) sold in Spain must be certified for use.

🛑 PMVs sold before January 21, 2024 will still be allowed to circulate until January 22, 2027, even without certification.

✅ From January 22, 2027, only PMVs with a valid certification will be allowed on the roads.

📖 According to the PMV Characteristics Manual (published by the DGT on January 12, 2022), there are two main types of certified PMVs:

🚶 PMVs for personal transport

📦 PMVs for goods transport or other services

❓ Not sure which models are officially approved for use in Spain? Don’t worry — the DGT has just published a complete list of all certified models. We leave you the link in the comments to check it out. ⬇️⬇️
