It happens more often than you’d think… Cars on foreign plates with expired MOT/ITV, no valid insurance, unpaid road tax or cars that have simply been in Spain too long can be stopped by the Police or Guardia Civil and in many cases, towed away.

The solution? Temporary Import Plates (placas verdes).
