HOW TO APPEAL A FINE

Have you received a traffic fine from the **DGT** that you don’t agree with?
You have the **right to appeal** within **20 calendar days** from the **day after** you receive the notification.

**How can you submit your appeal or allegations?**
**Online**
Through the official DGT web application.
You’ll need:
* Digital DNI
* Valid electronic certificate
* Or Cl\@ve credentials
Once inside, enter your **sanction file number**, and the system will let you know if the appeal is admissible.

**By Postal Mail**
Send your written allegations to:
* The **Traffic Headquarters (Jefatura de Tráfico)** handling your fine
* Or the **Automated Penalty Processing Center (Centro de Tratamiento de Denuncias Automatizadas)**

**In Person**
At any **Traffic Office (Jefatura or Oficina de Tráfico)**
For **individuals and their legal representatives** only.
**Companies and legal entities** must complete the process **online**.

**Via the General Electronic Registry (Registro Electrónico General de la AGE)**
If your **representative** is submitting the appeal, they can use this channel.
You must assign them as your representative through the official **Registry of Authorisations (Registro de Apoderamientos)**.
