DRIVING abroad this SUMMER with your Spanish licence

When Do You Need an International Driving Permit (IDP)?
You can drive with your valid Spanish driving licence in the following countries WITHOUT needing an International Driving Permit:
European Union (EU)
European Economic Area (EEA): Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway
Countries with bilateral agreements, such as:
Andorra,
Algeria,
Argentina,
Bolivia,
Chile,
Colombia,
South Korea,
Costa Rica,
Ecuador,
Japan (*),
Morocco,
Nicaragua,
Peru,
Dominican Republic,
Panama,
Paraguay,
Uruguay,
Brazil,
El Salvador,
Philippines,
Guatemala,
Serbia,
Switzerland,
Turkey,
Tunisia,
Ukraine,
Monaco,
North Macedonia,
United Kingdom & Northern Ireland,
New Zealand.
(*) Japan: Even though there is a bilateral agreement, mutual recognition of national driving licenses does not apply.
If you plan to drive in Japan, you must carry your valid Spanish license AND an International Driving Permit (both must be valid).
In ALL OTHER COUNTRIES, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is REQUIRED before you drive.
To get your official IDP, you must pay fee 4.5 (€10.51).
