V-16 Warning LIGHT: Mandatory in Spain, But What About FOREIGN VEHICLES

Spain is the first country to make this connected and luminous device mandatory on vehicles from 2026.
📜 What does the Vienna Convention say❓
The Vienna Convention on Road Traffic allows countries to require vehicles in international circulation to carry either:
🔺 A triangle-shaped warning sign, or
💡 Any other equally effective device approved by the country where the vehicle is registered.
🚘 For foreign vehicles driving in Spain:
✅ If they carry warning triangles🔺🔺, they are fully compliant with Spanish regulations.
❌ They are NOT required to carry the V-16 light 🚨
🇪🇸 For Spanish vehicles abroad (in countries that signed the Vienna Convention):
✅ They can legally use the V-16 connected emergency light without needing to carry triangles.
📲🚗 For those who want to carry this instruction on their phone or printed in their vehicle — to prove they are exempt from carrying the V-16 emergency light — here is the official document provided by the DGT:

✅ Save it, screenshot it, or print it — just in case you need to show it!
